ABSA BANK - Clearwater mall

<p>My wife went to Absa bank on Friday, 8 July, to open a 7 day notice account. This was as we are currently building and we did not want the entire amount, which is substantial, sitting in a savings account (apparently you dont get interest on this - so basically she is paying the bank with all her service and transaction fees). They assured her that everything was set up and we would be able to put in notice for 7 day times. On Wednesday, 13 July, we went into the account and we couldnt put notice as it had been set for 30 days (how frustrating as we need to pay builders wages). My wife went back into ABSA bank on Thursday 14 July,at 9am (with two children- one of which has severe ADHD), and had to wait 45 minutes to see a consultant. The consultant then went into the account and set it up' correctly' and assured her again that everything was correct and there would be no more problems. We then went home and tried to put notice on the account.... IMAGINE OUR SURPRISE. They had put notice on the ENTIRE AMOUNT for the 22nd July. This defeats the point of a seven day notice account.</p> <p>This is shocking service and I do not understand how this can even happen. We both agree that ABSA bank have not listened to what we have asked for and that they do not have a clear understanding of what a 7 day account is. The really sad thing is that my wife has been with ABSA bank for the last 30 years. We were going to invest a further substantial amount with them, but it has been made perfectly clear that they would rather we use another bank as there service is so poor. It is impossible for her to back into the bank and expect her severely ADHD to sit for another 45 Minutes.</p>
