Absa bank ***** cases

On Sunday morning my husband received an sms stating that my card has been replaced and if it's not me I need to phone the number. I put a stop on my card as money was being taken out of my account without my knowledge. I did not receive any notifications or alerts and my account was cleared. On Monday morning I went to the branch I opened my account in, the Chatsworth branch and they were of no help. I then went to the branch in Pinetown and got a bit of information that I need to phone the *****line. I closed down that existing account and opened a brand new account, 1 day later money was being used again. All over again there were no notifications. I had to make another trip to the bank and all they could say was that I need to open another ***** case and get an affidavit. They told me my card "could" have been cloned. I have not got any proper help or answers from Absa bank. They refused to tell me more information about my own account because of "security reasons ". My account got compromised from the 27th of January 2026 and no notifications came to me about the transactions going on. Tell me how did my 1 day old account get cloned again? Is it possibly a breach of information from the bank? And how because absa is supposed to be trustworthy with our information and were supposed to be a secure banking service. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service I received. It is not a joke, I needed their assistance . They are very quick to open an account for us but are unable to assist us when we need it the most. The question is how did 2 cards get cloned from the same bank and how was my information given to someone? I have an account with standard bank and a capitec account for years and have never had an issue like this. How am I supposed to sort this out when no one can help me from Absa? Will I get my money back? Will this be taken seriously? I will not be trusting Absa with my information or mine again.
