ABSA bank are unable to help a Customer cancel a recurring stop order
<p>I must cancel a Stop Order with immediate effect. Unfortunately, I am not able to go into a branch. I have messaged ABSA numerous times asking for them to please help me. All I get as an answer is to go into a branch to do this. The latest reply said I could cancel it on line. But that was incorrect. My Stop Order is not listed in my recurring payments section.</p> <p>ABSA staff do not seem to know how I can cancel this stop order without going into a branch. There seems to be nobody who can help. I have emailed, asked for telephone numbers and email addresses of staff who could help. To no avail. Absa do not seem to be able to help their Customer.</p> <p>What can I do to get them to help me please?</p>

This is the response I have got a number of times from someone called Priyal Bharuth who sends the same message (below) over and over to me even though I have explained a number of times that I do not have any recurring stop orders listed on my recurring stop orders page.
What is listed on my recurring orders page is this message - highlighted in red.“– 236 – Payment limit not set. Make use of Manage Absa ...For first time set up of limits you need to visit your branch.”
No matter how many times I am sent the message below by Priyal Bharuth, I am not able to stop my recurring stop order. The message reads -
Please be advised, you are able to remove a recurring payment through your Absa Online Banking system.
May we please request you to follow these simple steps to remove the recurring payment
- Select ?Payments?
- Select ?Recurring payments?
- Select Remove recurring payment button (this button looks like a trash can)
- Select ?Next?
- Select ?Remove?
- Select ?Done?
The recurring payment should automatically be removed.
