ABSA bank

The most disturbing service ,I feel so dis valued as a customer. my history with Absa was of no importance and treatment from Head office customer service, even after I reported to the action help line and still waited for almost a month and a half for some resolution was of no use..I was made to feel that I was in the wrong. Absa was very kind enough to give me a credit card to get my credit back after suffering a 5 year of financial loss of my home due to ***** and so on , I have gone through the credit bureaus to get the judgements off my name and NCR to help me with my disputes to say the least its been tough so after leaving FNB and coming back to Absa which is in my area they awarded me a small credit card with the judgements still on my name and my credit score seemed average but I was paying off a prescribed debt from Forschinis that a company called DMC took over in 2015 I did not have to acknowledge but I did it was a [email protected] 60 months and it is ment to expire March 2021 But I was good with the account and already paid 15800 last year in October there is a balance of 1250 which i was promised a discount on , so because I am so far in advance I told them to please sort out my discount and I was threatened with a payment on the credit departments which is false, and they have done that , even when I asked for a consultant to contact me . So this has downed my score but that should not have been an issue with ABSA because it was already on there when they gave me the credit card and even increased my limit by 5000.00 So when the forced lock down came I did a payment of 2500.00 my minim is about 296.00 and I did not take the payment holiday when they phoned but I got a notice on my app to say I was over my limited and this is just the interest not arrears I have never been in arrears but on their statements the minim amount due includes excess and arrears it does not specify which . For the lock down they gave me a date of the 29 June to pay my credit card and I even confirmed with their head office and they told me after I made the payment that my account was fine. I had also by this time still received no uif but I made sure that my credit card was paid , I had of course also gone onthe app amount which is also why I confirmed with their head office. In the August I received provisional offers on my on line banking for increase amounts on personal loan, credit card and overdraft . I sent through an email asking if I could move my credit card over to a personal loan and to free up my credit card for emergency's and also I want to buy a few major appliances and did not want to make debt I only wanted to do through my bank. I never received any correspondence back so after a few weeks I phoned and the consultant put me through to another consultant who when she answer sound like she was either sharing a joke with some one or at me and when she put through every thing she said it was declined as my credit was not up to standard this after nothing has really changed except the judgements are off which should be better , no quite the opposite , I asked for her supervisor , Mr Jabulani let me rant on , then when he spoke he told me that HE was not happy with the way I conducted my credit card over the months he refered to the months APRIL MAY of which ABSA had held off payments, I told him that was the lock down period and the amount I was to settle I did before the due date and the amounts he is looking at is the excess of interest which was included in the amount I was asked to pay . Plus I always make quite a number of payments during the month so I should actually not have so much interest but I use my card all the time. like my debit card I cant exceed my limit it wont let me. Anyway I sent through a complaint to Action help and Roseline took care of it and finally a month and a half later She tells me to contact Stefan , I try, I cant get through and so i sent an email telling her. With in 5 minutes he phones . I tell him the story but because it was a few weeks later I had forgotten some important things. but I did send a email after with all details. He then said to me that I had been in the arrears six months I am not sure as to which statements he was looking at but mine never said that , plus he did say in an email that they do from time to time look at a customers credit availability and that it does not affect their credit score but of course it does because it goes under the Enquiry and I Saw a few from ABSA that has since been removed but my credit score was down, which now became an excuse to decline my request. even after they had made me offers in the August. I sent him the emails from Head office about the confirmation that my account was not in arrears and the payments I have made Aug no excess Sep no excess < so far for October I have deposited 12000.00 and my account is only 10 000. This makes no sense I am being penalized for being under Government lock down and also using my credit card. I have a gold cheque card and every month my family from America sends between 50 to 250 dollars through Western Union. I am devastated truly . I feel like every thing I have worked so hard at has been destroyed. DMC listed me as a bad payer after all the money I have paid through a very difficult time of my life and I am so far in advance with payment and ABSA also penalized me when they should not have at all . Algorithms just go on the info people capture and that's not always accurate. My info that's on the credit department are ********** which is taking me ages to fix . So the one place I felt happy with has disappointed me. Their core values are not true at all. My Question is how you get offers then get told you are in the arrears and clearly then I don't know how to manage something that's not true to their document. thanks Beverly Muller
