ABSA ATMs takes from a Pensioner

My grandmother visited her local ABSA Branch at Sebokeng, Thabong Mall to withdraw use her SASA card her pension combined with foster child grant. She was to withdraw R2000 to pay for groceries and other related items.

With the assistance of a security guard, from the branch she was able to input all the data required by the ATM however, the ATM from her account started to count the money for a while and the money never come out but the ATM eject-ed a slip (indicating a successful withdrawal) and her card.

She immediately went into the inside of the Branch were she was told that the matter should be reported at SASA not at the Bank.

She then walked to the SASA offices where they confirm to her that money was indeed withdrwan from the SASA account at the time indicated on her slip.

I am disappointed by how ABSAreacted to this matter, wasn't she supposed to be adviced to raise a complaint at ABSA for internal investigations to be effected? My belief is that this matter is not related to SASA but to ABSA since it took place at their ATM.

I request ABSA to conduct an investigation, your ATMs and branches have cameras which can be used to verify her side of the story.

I believe ABSA Employees should be taught how to listen to individual complaints to avoid to be defensive at all times.

Dear Keletso Phumello Flavour Thank you for bring this matter to our attention. Please note that the complaint should be Raised with SASSA Office they should log a formal dispute with ABSA to investigate as ABSA does not have excess to the complainants account to see what has transpired.
