On the morning of 1st August I went to Absa Pretoria North at Northpark Mall to withdraw cash. Two of the machines were empty, which I could understand since it was month end. The customers were The customers were standing in 2 queues and there were two bank employees outside. I asked the one employee, a lady, if there was money in the machines, she ignored me. I asked her twice more before she had the decency to tell me the two outside machines were working. I waited in the left line. When I was almost at the front, one of the employees mentioned that the right line was for deposits only and the left line was for cash. The male employee then took people from the right hand line and made them stand in front of me, not even taking into account that I have been standing there for ten minutes. If the employees did not tell the customers from the start that one line was for cash and one line for deposits, how did they expect customers to know? What were they doing there if they did not even have the decency to answer customers' questions or to advise them in which queue they should be standing? And then to top it all off they wanted me to wait even longer because they weren't directing the customers to the correct places. Both these people need verbal warnings. I have been a ATM Custodian and I understand that there are sometimes shortages on money, but these individuals were standing outside this morning for love and charity, they should have just stayed inside and played with their fingers while the customers sorted themselves out.
