ABSA, are you still operating?

ABSA ABSA ABSA. I am beginning to suspect that hellopeter is your customer service department.

I stay in Croatia, and I want to close my bonds, my savings account, and my credit card. The credit card department was efficient, after a few promptings. Thank you guys. Kudos. The bonds department still havent even responded after two weeks, although these bonds were settled with the transfer attorneys in January, yet ABSA still did not close it.

And then, I was contacted by the savings accounts department, suggestion I go to my nearest ABSA branch. This after I explicitly explained that I don’t stay in South Africa. I rep**** again, and then they said I can kindly visit the international branch. Just that. Thereafter I had to ask, WHICH international branch? They politely rep**** eventually, that I can visit any international bank which deals with visa or master card, and they will be able to assist me.

Is this an April Fools joke?

I even gave that a shot, and contacted the banker in Zagreb. I think it caused a suspicion to question my sanity. No, this is not a service they offer.

Yet, the account is still open.
