ABSA approve me for a new car, old car giving problems

I have been declined for a vehicle for the past 4 years, I am currently having a vehicle finance with ABSA and I am afraid it will reach a point where I will not be able to pay it anymore the reason being this car keeps on breaking and whenever I tried to apply for a new vehicle I got declined, last time the reason was that my vehicle account had 1 Month arrear, which I skipped in 2017, now its sorted but ABSA wont approve me. Dealers are willing the settle the car but ABSA is refusing to finance me for a new car. i don't want to end up being a bad customer with ABSA but this car keeps on breaking and even if i can surrender it obviously is going to have a shortfall that i will be liable to pay, please approve my application for a new car, i have been your customer since 2014. and since 2014 i only skipped one month in 2017 which is now settled.
