ABSA Appointed Conveyancer provides horrible customer service
Dear ABSA Customer Relations,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration regarding our recent experience with a conveyancer affiliated with your institution—Smit Sew Attorneys—in the process of purchasing a property from one of your Help U Sell clients.
Due to the nature of the transaction, we were compelled to use Smit Sew as the conveyancing firm. What followed has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their handling of our property transfer has been marked by incompetence, a complete lack of urgency, and a total disregard for customer service.
We were forced to enlist our own legal counsel just to ensure the transaction moved forward, as Smit Sew failed to demonstrate even the most basic level of professionalism or responsiveness. Their representative, Rachelle Freed, has ignored multiple phone calls and emails, some dating back over a month. This is not just poor service—it is unacceptable and unprofessional.
The firm has shown no empathy or consideration for the stress and complexity involved in property transactions. Their behaviour suggests they have never had any no interest in helping us, never had concern for whether the deal proceeds, and certainly no regard for our peace of mind.
Frankly, it is shocking that ABSA would associate its name and reputation with a firm that operates with such disregard for client experience. This association tarnishes ABSA’s image and undermines the trust customers place in your brand.
We urge you to review your relationship with Smit Sew Attorneys and consider the damage such partnerships can do to your standing in the market. We expect a formal response to this complaint and a clear indication of how ABSA intends to address this issue.
