ABSA ***** and ABSA Private Banking useless service !!!!!!

I am a student @ North-West University and had R1000 in my debit card account. A transaction of R6505.38 went through on the 19th of December with effective date of 9th of November. The transaction is related to Total Potchefstroom. Total Potchefstroom has proof that the transaction did not take place on the 9th of November and that they have not received the money.

The following are logical and massive indicators that the problem is with ABSA: 1. It is a debit card. I only had R1000 in the account on date of transaction. A debit card can't go over R5000 into the negative. My balance shows -R5000 so I owe ABSA money on a cheque account. If you swipe a debit card it always shows "declined insufficient funds" if you do not have the money to process transaction. 2. My card has a R2000 daily point of sale limit. It is not possible that ABSA can authorize a transaction of R6505.38 3. I never received an SMS that amount went off. 4. I drive a Volkswagen Jetta and I only have a fuel tank of 50l. It is impossible to buy this amount of fuel. 5. Total Potchefstroom went onto their system and bank statements and can prove that they haven't receive the money.

I have contacted the ABSA ***** and Private Banking department. Both only refer me to email addresses that I must explain and they will look into it after 15 working days. In the meanwhile I sit with negative balance on my account of R5000. If I pay money into account ABSA takes it immediately to reduce the negative R5000 so I can't use the account. ABSA ***** and Private Banking service is unwilling and unable to help me. Saying they can't reverse transaction even if Total gives authority since they have not received the money. ABSA tells me I should sort it out with merchant even though I am there client. They must only reverse transaction and then do investigation.

I am going to close all my accounts since the service is so bad from a department that handles ***** and private clients.
