ABSA allows ***** on credit card and refuse to ref
I am a Estate Agent and was called by someone to tell me he was interested in buying a property from me and I must come and see him at his flat. When I got into the flat I was attacked by 4 Nigerians, stripped naked and forced to give them my pin code on my credit card. They kept me hostage for 2 hours before letting me go. In the mean time they went to one of the worst areas in Sunnyside Pretoria and bought cell phones for R15 000. No call was made to me to find out if I was making this sale. When I was released I immediatly stopped my credit card and told ABSA what happened. I then went to the police and gave ABSA the case number. ABSA responded by saying I did not stop my card in time and that they are paying the Cell phone company. I told them I was held hostage and forced to give them my pin. They still refuse to stop the payment and now I must pay the R15 000. This shows me that ABSA is saying YES to crime and me as a client is not protected. I am a white Afrikaans person with a Afrikaans surname and my card was signed on the back. The Cell phones were bought by a black Nigerian with no proof of ID or checking the signature.
