ABSA added Insurance premiums to my instalment without my consent

ABSA decided to add insurance to my instalment without my consent. I opted for a fixed premium as I didn't want to be frustrated by fluctuating amounts. I have been paying for my car manually since I lost my job more than a year ago. So now I get a call from Charles Willett informing me that I've been making short payments because my instalment is not what I've been paying. When I asked him he said it's because of my insurance with ABSA. I never consented to such and now I'm too scared to drive around if this thing is not resolved because the amount has gone up to R8500 and my car can be repossessed. My main issue is why the insurance is added to instalments? Are they not different? To me it feels like ABSA is in cahoots with the insurer and supplying them with clients so they could benefit some commission. May I not be part of this. I also read an article on IOL stating that it is ******* to do such
