ABSA Added Credit Life to my Credit Card without my permission

<p>I don't normally check my credit card statement as I am getting a SMS if there is a transaction on my credit card. When I recently checked my statement, I saw a deduction for "Credit Life". I was quite sure that I never asked for credit life as I know these life insurance products on credit cards are nutoriously expensive. I phoned in and was asked to send an email to card division. After days I got a response back that they will check into it. It stated : </p> <p>"<span style="color: #500050; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px; background-color: #ffffff;">Kindly accept our sincere apology for the delay in responding to your email. </span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px; background-color: #ffffff;">According to our records you were contacted telephonically and Credit Life Plan was accepted and instated telephonically."</span></p> <p><span style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px; background-color: #ffffff;">I then sent an email asking for a copy of the recording. Today I get a telephone call with an email confirmation from someone else in ABSA stating that he listened to the recordings and that I did not request credit life. I was told to phone ABSA card, which I did. They want me to fill in forms to cancel the credit life, which I never asked for in the first place. They also refused to refund me. I asked to be escalated to a manager and have been holding for 28 minutes. I told the person that I would rather resolve it with ABSA rather than going to HelloPeter or Carte Blance, as this is a very very serious issue and amounts to *****. I am getting no joy from ABSA.</span></p>
