ABSA accepted full and final settlement payment and is now demanding more money

ABSA provided a settlement quote, which I accepted and paid in full. This payment was made in good faith, based on the clear understanding that it constituted a full and final settlement of the account. I am in possession of proof of payment confirming that the settlement amount was paid.

Despite this, ABSA has now issued a new settlement quote and is demanding additional payment after the original settlement was already paid. This is unacceptable. A settlement agreement cannot be altered or replaced after payment has been made.

Issuing a second settlement quote after accepting payment undermines the purpose of a settlement, causes unnecessary distress, and reflects poor governance and internal controls.
