ABSA
During September month Absa deducted additional money from my account for no reason at all. I went to my local bank to reverse the amount and was told that the deduction could not be reversed at branch level. I was assisted to call a number from the branch, however I was on hold for more than 30 min without anyone taking my call. I had to leave as I already stood in a quee for more than an hour outside before getting into the bank. I was given a number to call, which I did... this call was also over an hour and used R120 worth of airtime. I was told by the consultant Arozalia that Absa apologizes for the error made and that I was not the only client that this happened to. She gave me a reference number and advised that this would be resolved within 3 to 4 working days. Ref nr. C***1. I called again on 2 October at 13:16 and again spoke to Arozalia that said again she apologizes and that she would escalate the call. On 2nd of November I called again and was given a new Ref nr. C***. I received the money back into my account on the 4th of November. And just received an email that Absa apologise for this error. And guess what on the 24th of November ABSA deducted R611.41 from my account and again R3346.91 on 30 November. Again these amounts can not be reversed on my App or at branch level due to this not being normal authorized debit orders. My loan that should have gone through could not due to now insufficient funds in my account. I called Absa again and by now was fuming with anger and disappointment with the bank that I used since I left school... I spoke to Songs and he could see the amounts deducted and was told that again I have to wait 4 to 5 working days for my money to be reversed into my account. I explained that due to all of this now 3 months in a row my normal debit orders like study loan for my daughter, my personal loan and my Old Mutual did not go through. Al of this will reflect firstly on my credit record as I now have to use my credit card to pay for food and essentials. As well as what if anything happened to myself or my husband and my policies are in arears - they wont pay out anything??? Loooooong story short, we are on the 1st of December and due to ABSA I have no money to buy food for my children, no money for my normal debit orders. How can ABSA just ***** from their customers!? How can I be assured that this will not happen again. I will be closing my ABSA account the moment I have time and obviously only when I got all my money back. Dissatisfied ABSA client ***
