Absa a bunch of ******

Absa is a bunch of ******. My Dad had a flexisave account with Absa. Linked to that was funeral cover. My Dad passed away last week so I went into the bank to close his account. They told me about the death benefit and that I need to have a authorisation letter to close the account and to have the death benefit paid out to me. I ran around to get all the paper work the bank wanted. Today i went back with the authorisation letter to close the account then i was informed that my father doesnt qualify for the death benefit. Nobody explained to us(my father and I) about terms and conditions. My father got a SMS every month stating in order to qualify for the death benefit he must have a positive balance of at R50. Thats all. Now suddenly when they must pay there are terms and conditions.

Reviewer Update
I looked at all the reviews on Absa and it looks lime they are not interested in customer service or their clients. Very sad that a bank that makes such a lot of money just takes money from people but are not interested in keeping their customer happy. Pathetic. No business principles.
