I have a Vehicle financed with ABSA for two and half years now. Vehicle was initially Insured with Outsurance and I made the switch to Santam Over a year and a half ago. I submitted the new Policy documents to ABSA AIP as requested. There was never any form of acknowledgement of receipt on their side. Possibly a few weeks later, we started getting calls requesting that we submit a policy. I forwarded the same message again to AIP and again, there was no acknowledgement of receipt. I then followed up telephonically and it was confirmed. I urged they respond in writing and it was eventually done.
I then got an SMS a week ago threatening that if I do not submit the same documents again, they'll debit my account with AIP Policy, and they did. I have not authorized this debit order, Is it legal for them to do that? Why am I paying 2 insurance policies on the same vehicle? Is that legal? Have I broken the Law because ABSA broke the law?
It has really put a strain on our relationship. I cannot be affiliated to a company that does Business by *********** it's clients.
