I'd like to know the legality on the matter of the bank (Absa Vehicle Finance) taking vehicle insurance on my behalf without noticing me, I was in the process of shopping around around for a more financially suitable cover to take.

I was contacted about 6 months after the insurance was taken out on my behalf and told that my account is in areas because I was paying my monthly installment without the insurance money of which no one had had the courtesy of informing me about when it was taken out initially. I'm told there's a clause on the contract will allows the bank to take out insurance on... Had they called me to inform me the moment they decided to insure me like they're calling me now, this would' ve been avoided. I'm threatened with repossession now which makes me think this was their initial plan.....have me in arear so they can reposses the vehicle.
