*** and ***

In April I spent over an hour at Absa The Glen branch talking on the phone to John Sesana. He told me was a legal person at Absa Home Loans, his duty was handle accounts of defaulting clients. I had gone to the branch to request a reduction on my home loan repayments as have been unemployed since I was ironically retrenched by Absa where I'd been a loyal employee for over 5 years in their Group Payments department. John listened to my pity story but flatly refused to accommodate my request as I wasn't working, had no source of income and had been defaulting. I explain to him I'd been paying R11000 on one account and had resumed paying R2400 on the other and that this was becoming almost impossible to maintain. He advised I should put one property out for sale. I heeded his call and have been hosting potential buyers since then. Just 2 weeks ago I added a wardrobe just to make the house more marketable. Even in April I still paid the R2400. However, I was shocked when a sheriff came to knock at my door under John Sesana's instruction. Absa wants to repossess my house, put a judgment on my name despite having resumed paying and them declining my request. So much for caring bank.
