3RD PARTY CLAIM

On 8 May 2015, an unknown person has withdrawn R1000-00 from my Absa Savings account at an unknown ATM at 23:00, while I was at home, sleeping, with my debitcard in my possession. When I woke up on 9 May 2015 and saw the sms notification from Absa, I immediately cancelled my card at the Absa Helpline. Ref nr: ***. I reported case to SAPS, case nr 327/5/2015. I lodged a complain at ABSA with refnr ***. On 27 May 2015, Absa informed me that they have declined my claim because apparently the money was withdrawn from an Standard Bank atm and Standard Bank says that it was a valid transaction. I will not accept this outcome on this claim, as Absa is my service provider, and they must be liable for any unauthorised transactions made from my account. I have not lost my debitcard and therefore I do not know how this person got hold of my details. in fact, the debitcard is still in my possession.
