3 weeks and counting for a credit card

THREE WEEKS AGO I app**** for a credit card from Virgin Money, it was approved straight away but since then it has been a mess, on the 12th, 13th and tye 16th of October I sent through all documents asked for, in turn iasked for confirmation that it was received but got none. I also asked for confirmation via e mail that it has been approved but they are only willing to say so telephonically, since the documents were sent for the 3rd time on the 19th there has been no feedback. It has been 3 weeks since the process started, is simply not acceptable and is well past poor service. I need confirmation, as stated before all relevant documents were sent on 3 occasions.
