13 months for ABSA to deliver a miscarage

On the 26th of September 2016 I forgot my debit card in the ATM at KBY airport. I contact ABSA call centre as soon as I realised my mistake (about an hour later) and stopped my card. I went to the Jan Kempdorp branch the following day to order a new debit card. I was told it would take a few working days for my new card to arrive. In the following 3 weeks I visited the Jan Kempdorp branch to enquire about my new card and every time there was no card yet. I just gave up on them, because I still had my credit card to use in the mean while. A month or two later I received a brand new credit card with a new account number via delivery, which I did not requested at all. Up till today I still can't use the brand new credit card, due to activation of pin or something. Head office told me I must just use it once then it will be activated, but that didn't work. Luckily, I still had my old credit card to use for card transactions. On the 19th of October 2017, almost 13 months later, I received an phone call of the Jan Kempdorp branch that my new debit card has finally arrived. On the 23rd of October 2017, I went to collect my debit card. After 30 minutes of over rides, calling the supervisor and I don't know what other delays, I was told that the card is a 'tag and go?' card. This will mean that any person can use my card, without a pin. This was not what I had before. I assume that a 'tag-and-go' card is not safe at all for a platinum card member. I gave the card back. The kind lady told me, now I must just wait to stop that 'tag-and'go' card and my unused credit card. I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER 30 MINUTES TO WAIT FOR A 5 MINUTE JOB!!!!!!! I left ABSA, frustrated, unhappy and without my new debit card. Will I have to wait another 13 months to get (maybe) the correct banking card???????
