BEWARE OF THESE DECEIVING, ************* AND ********** PEOPLE

In Jan 20 Pieter Saunderson (PGS Handyman) and his brother Kobus Saunderson came to me for the installation of an air conditioner. I wanted a Samsung because of the 10 year warranty on the inverter and they promised me they will give me a SirAir system for less with the same warranty. I was quoted in writing by Pieter’s company (PGS Handyman) for a 12000 btu SirAir Inverter system with a 10 year warranty on the inverter. I wrote a mail to Pieter, with a picture and detailed description from the SirAir webpage, and requested confirmation that my assumption of model is correct. I received confirmation from Pieter in writing. I did an EFT to Pieter’s account and paid everything in full. Kobus installed the air conditioner on 16 Jan 20. After the installation we checked that everything worked as it should.

On 1 Jul 20 I got a whatsapp from Kobus that the aircon must be serviced every 6 months to retain the warranty, cost R850.00. I had a look at the SirAir web page and it stipulated once a year, not twice. The fee should be R400. I got suspitious and fetched a ladder to get the serial number. I then saw that the air conditioner installed was a 9000 btu non-inverter SirAir. I also checked the outside unit and again it showed 9000 btu non-inverter.

I tried to contact Pieter on whatsapp and his cell phone but he just ignored me. PGS Handyman is the company who quoted me, send me the invoice and to whom I paid the money. When I finally threatened Kobus he got Pieter to phone me, Pieter just said I must talk to Kobus as Kobus did the installation. Pieter tried to dismiss his responsibility by saying the air-condition installation is Kobus’s job and not his. He also claimed he is bankrupt and I can sue who ever I want, he cannot pay. Kobus on the other hand tried to spin me a story that SirAir gave him the wrong model. As a reputable installer he should know the difference.

I contacted the person in our retirement village who recommended them and after investigation he discovered Kobus also installed a 9000 btu non-inverter while he also paid for a 12000 btu inverter system.

Both Pieter and Kobus deceived me with regard to the size and model of the aircon they installed. They **** about the warranty period. Kobus tried to trick me into a service twice a year for double the actual price. I am not the only person they have deceived.

Pieter Saunderson trade as PGS Handyman *** on Facebook. He has multiple pages with different logos. On his business card and Facebook page he clearly displays and advertises aircon installation. On https://vymaps.com/ZA/PGS-Handyman-Services-***/ his address is listed as if in Hennopspark while in actual fact he is living in Rooihuiskraal.
