The Ridiculous Cancellation Fees of Aan De Vliet Holiday Resort

<p>Me and my wife had planned for a weekend outing in Mpumalanga from the 17 - 20 march 2016. On the 8th my wife made a booking in Hazeyview at Aan De Vliet Holiday Resort. She paid the full amount thereof. Due to my mother's sudden illness on the same day, we then decided to cancel our outing not only for support but to direct the funds to her medical care.</p> <p>The manager at Aan De Vliet (Sandra) informed us that there would be a 75% cancellation fee of the total booking amount. "Unforfunately it is our compony's policy" she said</p> <p>I feel that this is unfair and unjust to the consumer especially since I have absolutely no control over my unfortunate situation. What happened to the Cooling-Off cancellation period without penalties, the service provider's terms and conditions that should not be unfair and adverse to the consumer so as to be inequitable?</p> <p>We now stand to forfeit R1 874 in just one day of booking and cancellation.</p> <p>Please help.</p>
