Think twice before choosing your Marketing college to study at in Cape Town.

For those of you not fami**** with AAA School ofAdvertising they are a Marketing College based in Cape Town City Center and Johannesburg.

They offer three main courses, Copywritting, Desgin and Marketing Degree.

I completed the 3 year Marketing Degree course in 2017, this was my experience...

1st year 2 Lectures will teach you all 6 of your subjects, all of which will happen in the same classroom. Both these lectures have no experience in the marketing industry unless you include retail and hospitality as related experience. The lectures battle to explore ideas beyond the confines of the textbooks. Students only read as much as they feel like or what is necessary for tests and exams. The college doesn't provide much feedback on the textbooks at hand or is conducive to reading extensively. Writting s****s are barely developed, no essays are required or completed, more orientated around short assignments. No time will be required to work on computers at Campus, Marketing Degree students will get no formal training on any software, editing, photoshop, logo creation - This is not only the case in first year but throughout the entire three years.

Second Year 2 Lectures will teach all subjects, one of which is the same from the first year. The main subject called Entrepreneurship where student form team and have to brand a product which they then sell to the college can be bought. Teams who make over 10 thousand for this assignment receive 100% for the assignment, no questions. Doesn't matter your business plan, product originality, social media, attendance... 100%

Third Year Basically done by one lecturer, students only specialise in the last 6 month of this three year degree. Questionable lectures are brought in to run these modules, pushing their own side projects in between. Covering their specific topics only at the surface, especially Digitial.

Summary A small facility which are easily worked up, unprofessional and disorganised. The pool of information with regards to work and case studies are outdated or virtually non-existent, how long have they been in business...? No quality printer on campus. Don't help you put a decent CV together. No creative development,

Reviewer Update
Hi thanks for the feedback on my review posted 10 months ago. I sincerely made attempts in the second and third year to raise issues about the quality of education students receive at AAA. You called me yesterday asked me how I'm doing, what work I'm doing and how I found AAA. I thought you were calling to genuinely understand my student experience at AAA. After my passionate and detailed explanation of my experience, I was then told the point of the call was to promote successful alumni of AAA. It was apparent the conversation was going one way and my detailed issues where not being noted of addressed. I was then not asked to not send a video of my business and what I do. Be upfront, call students and say we looking to post videos of successful students in the marketing field on our social media. Nobody markets themselves more then AAA School of Advertising, you know why people are sick of advertising and marketing because it comes across as insincere. Be upfront, be honest with your intentions as a business. Don't ask me how I feel about AAA and proceed to switch off because you actually just warming me up with questions for what your really wanted ask. I will just say that AAA is always wondering what's in it for them, even in assignments they give to their students. Just to list 3 Year 1 First Assignment Social Media campaign to raise awareness of an issue in Cape Town. Required to tag AAA School of Advertising in every online post, pictures of you handing out food, collecting supplies for needy... Making it seem like AAA students go out of their way to give back to the community, it's an assignment... Now people's news feed is inundated with hundreds of tags of good deeds of AAA students. Third year Case Study assignment Here the assignment is to create a case study with appropriate questions and corresponding answers. Being told that the case students will be used in future assignments for other students. Instead of going to their non-existent pool of assignments they get students to create assignments for future students... Entrepreneurship week An assignment where teams have to create a product and brand behind it to sell for a week, profit going to charity. All social media posts for this assignment require AAA to be tagged in all the pictures. Any team that made over R10 000 to give to charity received 100% for their assignment. The document wasn't market, your product, effort, attitude, professionalism didn't matter if you made the money you got the marks. Parents naturally bought excessive amounts of their child's products because they wanted their kids to get good marks. At the end AAA posts online saying they handed x amount of money over to a charity. Coming across as our students make so much money from organic marketing they are learning at the college. When in reality students are begging friends and family to like their social media and buy their products. This was the case for several years with this assignment. You say you wish me the best as an entrepreneur but when I offered to make a video of what I do so you could post it you didn't ask me. That was the whole reason you called...
