*********, misleading and ************* business practice

Hi to anyone reading this. I was in a minor accident on Wednesday 30 August 2017 on Malibongwe Drive just after Bel Airs Drive. I by accident bumped my front left light into another car. AT the current moment in time I have no insurance and am unemployed. As the accident happened within 5 minutes a representative from A1 assist towing was on the scene. His name is Marius Black and he asked me if I was alright and if I needed any assistance. I said I was fine and my car was too, the light is damaged but the car could definitely still drive and the other person whom I bumped was fine and his car had literally no damage as he drives a buckey. There was a little dent but he and I are sorting that matter. Anyways the A1 employee then asked if I needed a towing service and if A1 could assist in repairing my car. At that time I told him that I had no insurance, I am currently unemployed and I live in Sharonlea which is down the road to where the accident happened. As such I told him I would rather prefer to drive my car 2km down the road to my house. He as the professional then told me that he did not suggest that be a good idea as he stated that there was a huge likelihood of my airbags deploying which would then render my car as a write off. I then asked him how much this would cost to fix the car and he stated about R20 000. I then immediately told him that I could not afford that at all as I am broke and unemployed and I would just rather drive my car home. Again he stated that it was not advisable and that he would assist me with everything. He even stated that these types of accidents happen and for those people who do not have money or insurance, the Road Accident Fund was there for such situations. Now I had never heard of such but as he was the professional in the circumstance and I was still in shock at what had happened I agreed and he made me sign a piece of paper that just required my details and signature . He stated nothing else and I got into his car with his colleague and they dropped me down the road to my house and towed my car. When I got home I then settled down and actually looked at the paper I had signed. Not knowing as they didn't relay ANY INFORMATION about the T&Cs, I looked at the back and finally read the terms of the deal which completely contradicted what he stated. Marius Black knowing my information and back ground that I relayed to him never informed me that there was a towing and storage charge. And this is where he was ********* and mislead me as he knew if he had told me that there was a R4500 towing charge I never would have agrred to the deal. As such I immediately called the A1 assist call centre on Thursday 31 August 2017 wanting to get my car back. The terms that we agreed upon were not the ones on paper. I spoke to many consultants from last week Thursday, by the names of Jade, Natasha and Ania. All of whom since Thursday would promise to call me back with further information and would not respond. This happened from Thursday till Monday 4 September 2017. With the exception of Ania who finally relayed my story to a manager by the name of Robbie De Freitas, the consultants were unhelpful as none of them wanted to take on the responsibility of making up for their A1 Road side employee who **** to me just so he could get a towing sale. My story is valid because I called them immediately the next day after I read the terms and conditions. Each of the consultants stated that it was my word against the tower but 1 thing they could answer was the question as to why I would have called them immediately the next day after the accident after having read THE ACTUAL T&Cs and not going on the word that Marius and I had. So much so that Ania was even going to allow me to come get my car for R2000 however I did not agree with that either because of the fact that Marius **** to me. He did not tell me that there was a towing charge because he knew I would've insisted to drive my car home. So much so that Ania wanted to give the car back to me for free because it was an ********* move from their side. Unfortunately without authority she then stated to me that she would consult with her manager Robbie and the manager would get back to me. As with a shady operation, the manager did not get back to me and instead told Ania to call me and they gave me an ultimatum. I now have to either pay the R4500 for the towing to get my car back or they will charge me R11500 for the storage and towage of my car and I have until next week Wednesday 13 September 2017 to pay R4500. Now this situation has really put me under immense stress as I really need my car for job interviews as I am currently looking for work. And they are charging me for storage of my car even though I was wanting to pick it up immediately the next day after the accident when I found out that I was **** and mislead. I have also sent Robbie De Freitas emails regarding my situation and he has not responded whatsoever. I really need help and I don't know what to do. This is a serious matter and I am looking for anyone who might know how I can proceed with this. A1 have handled this terribly and how disgusting is their business to prey on people when they are at their most vulnerable. They approach you as if they are your aiders and rescuers but in fact youre just their lunch meal. Its just not good business. I am thinking of going to the police regarding this matter but if anyone is out there who can help me with this please let me know by email ********** or my number is ********** . Thank you.
