****** out to exploit sufferers of car accidents and rob them of their money or even their vehicle!

<p>I had a car accident on the evening of April 24th 2017. An A1 Assist tow truck immediately appeared at the scene. The tow truck driver informed me that it would cost around one to one and a half thousand rand to tow the vehicle to my chosen destination, and I specified a panel beater on the form. The terms and conditions clearly state that the cost of the initial tow is just under four thousand rand! Aside from how expensive this is, the driver blatantly **** to me about the cost. I also asked him when I was supposed to pay him as he had no card facilities on his person and I don't walk around with thousands of rands in cash on my person. He assured me that payment could be made after delivery. I called the panel beater to confirm that they could receive the car at that late hour and thus they were expecting it. Later I found out that they never received the car. When communicating with the staff at the A1 Assist office, they informed me that the car is in their lot. It was never taken to the agreed upon destination specified in the agreement I signed. They are telling me now that they could not take the car to the panel beater as the panel beater would not pay for the towing (obviously) and so they took it to their compound instead. But the driver did not have the means to even allow me to pay for the towing beforehand. The driver clearly deliberately misled me so as to take my car. He took advantage of my shocked and injured state to swindle me during a time of crisis. The office staff are telling me that they are not in any way responsible for any inaccurate information that their employees/drivers might give to customers. So they allow their staff to lie to customers in the hopes of swindling innocent and shaken victims during car accidents. The car is now currently in their possession and I will be going to the police to lay a charge of theft against them. It sickens me that a business can function in such an ********* manner and at a time when someone is so vulnerable. These people are ****** and have ****** my car! I would very much like to see them go under if only to prevent them from doing this again and again to people in moments of trauma and shock.</p>
