Be Careful
On 5 August my geyser tripped and I contacted A24/7 Electrical & Plumbing. They sent David through to assist me. He informed me that due to a power surge a new earth leakage had to be installed on the D/B board. He also installed a braker for the geyser. I was charged R3243. On 9 August the geyser tripped again. David came back and installed a new element and thermostat. I was charged R2800. On 29 August the geyser tripped again. The geyser switch at the D/B board was also making a hissing sound. I called David and informed him of this and he said it does that sometimes when it’s drawing power and it’s normal. The geyser tripped again once or twice between 29 August and last week Tuesday, 28 September. After the geyser tripped again on 28 September, I called A24/7 Electrical & Plumbing and they refused to fix the issue without charging me extra. They won’t even come and check what the issue is without charging me a call out fee again. They have also informed me that they do not give a warranty on their work. I then got a second opinion from another plumbing-electrical company and after running some tests, they confirmed that the issue is that A24/7 Electrical & Plumbing installed a faulty braker for the geyser. David informed me that the braker may have been damaged because of load shedding or water shortages. There has not been any loadshedding or water shortages in my area in the time that I have been engaging with them over this geyser issue. I have called to request that they rectify this and they said it is not possible but they would get back to me. They have not gotten back to me. Now my calls are not being answered and not being returned. Please be careful when using A24/7 Electrical & Plumbing. David is very friendly and pleasant to engage with but I have no confidence in their work. It seems they don't either because they don't give warranties. I also suspect that I was overcharged.
