Unhelpful in *****ulent transaction

Payfast have been incredibly unhelpful in a problematic transaction. After purchasing an item through them, the merchant did not fulfill. It has been a month and I have yet to receive a refund into my account.

They take zero responsibility for essentially helping a *****ulent transaction take place. It took three customer service agents to even get an email address on who to escalate the issue to, and now that a refund is supposedly in process, they refuse to confirm whether it is in fact taking place! They always say that I must speak to the merchant - what good is that if they are using Payfast's service to con people! Not even my bank could assist with them to sort it out.

They need to work harder for the buyer - the lopsided protection of merchants is damaging.
