What a freaking ****, through all these years I’ve trusted payfast until now, now I have an issue where I want them to get involved as they where the payment provider and I’m fed a bunch of *******. About they can’t refund to debit cards and the merchant must return it blah blah, Don’t trust them as a payment provider!

23 Feb 2024, 10:51Hi there Rui and thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, all refund requests needs to go through to the merchant directly. We, at Payfast, facilitate the payment to the merchant. The merchant is responsible for processing any refunds for payments they have already received. They are able to refund directly from their Payfast Dashboard however, in the event that they run into technical difficulties such as different cards or accounts needed for the point of refund, they would be inclined to request banking details to ensure that the refunds are directed to the account of preference. Apologies for the frustration caused.
