A flurry of false promises
I went to the Home Makers Expo on 24 Feb 2018. Bought a Cloud 9 King XL from The Bed Store to which the salesman guaranteed delivery on the coming Tuesday, 27 February. It was a fairly good deal as they had marked down the price for the Expo. Tuesday came and went. Called the store, and they gave me the number of the delivery company who gave me lots of excuses about stock. They said they would deliver on Saturday, 3 March. Saturday came, I called to find out what time they would deliver, only to get another excuse. The delivery company then promised to give me free Cloud 9 pillows and a mattress protector and they promise that the bed would arrive on Monday, 5 March. Guess what? Monday came and went. Cloud 9 calls me late on Monday and tells me more lies. They said they'll deliver Thursday, 8 March. At this point I was pretty upset. I call The Bed Store head office, to which Haringey answers and then promises to find out what's going on. He calls me the next morning telling me that there was a major crisis with stock and delivery. He also promises delivery on Thursday... Between 17h00 and 18h00. Well... No surprises, no delivery. No one is answering any calls. Not Cloud 9, not The Bed Store, not the secret delivery company. Yet I'm out of thousands of rands without a bed that I was promised to have been delivered almost 2 weeks ago. So please take this post as a warning. Just look at the reviews on Social Media of the disgraceful service. I know I should have.
