Sick On Air Host
<p>I am extremely shocked this morning when I listened to 702. There was a lady sitting in for Koketso & she was very very sick on air. Where is the decency of 702's HR to allow a sick person on air. Various listeners even phioned in to offer her remedies & even John Robbie made jokes about her flu. This is not on & I am highly disgusted that management can even allow this.</p>
Thank you for your concern. We don't encourage sick people to come to work but as in any industry or workplace, it is up to an individual to decide whether she is well enough to go to work. In radio, it is very difficult to send someone home once they are on air, as it is difficult to replace a presenter at no notice. I suspect that once the show was over she was told to get better before returning on air.
