Ignorance at a High Cost

We recently relocated to Cape Town and were assisted by 3SIX5 Removals to move our contents into storage and then later to Cape Town. Our items were moved into storage on the 19th of December 2022, and the service we received from the driver (Honest) was excellent. What happened after that was a nightmare. We arrived in Cape Town on the 21st of December 2022, after which I sent Chris a message and asked him, "Now that you know how much stuff we have, please send me an updated quote to get our items to Cape Town". Chris rep**** with a quote, and I accepted. When our items arrived in Cape Town. We found that our truck was shared with someone else's items. Not only were our items squashed into the truck, and we had damages of around R9K, some of our most expensive furniture pieces never made it into the truck. Items include a double-door fridge, bookshelves, chest of drawers, antique table and food warmer trolley, dining room suite, and a lot of other items to the value of R22k. When I contacted Chris, his response was that I needed to pay for another load to Cape Town. My communication with him was clear with regard to the move. "Now that you know how much stuff we have, please send me an updated quote". In the interim, storage fees are accumulating in JHB as well. I do not recommend them for any move whatsoever, and I am taking this matter further. All communication with Chris is in writing and available.
