***** and MISLEADING VICTIMS

My dad was involved in an accident on Friday 4 December 2020. Two guys from STS towing arrived. Peet and Petrus. They said that they would tow the car to their yard and that their panel beater would fix the car, all at no cost to us, They said that the other party's insurance would pay all the costs and that they would arrange the claim with them. We agreed to let them tow the car. They had me sign a form to allow them to take the vehicle, but they never disclosed or mentioned that there was any fine print on the back. As he had folded it closed when he gave it to me. Probably so that I would not see the fine print. The next day when I phoned the other party to find out about the insurance, he said that he knew nothing of this claim the towing guys were refering to. We immediately made arrangements to remove the car from their storage. Upon this, we were told to pay R6000.00 in order to release the car. The owner of the towing comany, Andre, said that they cannot claim on our behalf from the other party's insurance and that we would have to do that. If they dont pay, then we will have to pay the R6000.00 towing and storage fee. We ended up paying the R6000.00 just to get my dad's car out. They really did us in, taking advantage of a person who is in shock from an accident.
