Deducting money from a cancelled contract
As we have not been using this gym , more than a year ago we received a phone call from one of the agents mentioning they noticed we are not active in the gym to such an extend that we did not even collect our membership cards and they will cancel it. Which was not done as money kept being deducted , sometimes double. In the meantime we left the country and money was still deducted. When we finally had the chance to focus on all our stuff being settled in the new country I encountered a very difficult situation. The more I tried to explain the money kept being deducted after I received a phone call from an agent the more I was told I know how the cancellation process work and a telephone cancellation is not acceptable as it must be in writing. This led to a massive argument , as it was not like I called the gym to cancel it , they called us! Which is basically a matter of my word against theirs. But , nonetheless , I was informed from management after a massive argument they will cancel the contract. Now I have that in writing. To my surprise , the gym just deducted AGAIN from my account. I want to know why? And who gave them authorization. I am looking for the name and contact details of the owner of this gym as this is not acceptable at all. I would also like to know from them should I ask my service provider to pull the call records and conversation from when their agent called me to cancel my contract? Because if that's to the extend I must go , then I will. Because the cancellation the second time went according to their cancellation policy and still money is deducted. This is the worst experience ever!!!!
