Dear TALENT MUNYARADZI
Thank you for brining the abovematter to our attention.
Please be advised that the underwriter is bound by the policy wording which states:
At all times you must take reasonable steps to safeguard the MOBILE DEVICE from loss,
damage or theft.
EXCLUSIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL SECTIONS OF THE POLICY (What you are not covered for)
viii) Loss or damage arising from the MOBILE DEVICE where it is left unattended
in a public place, place of recreation, office, mall or social occasion where it
is vulnerable for easy removal or damage
As the handset was left unattended, not safe gaurded, in a public area and there is no confirmation of forcible entry; the underwriter has no other option but top decline this claim unless proof that the handset was safe gaurded, can be supp****.
As you advise in the complaint that the area is unsafe to go back to it confirms a higher reason to safe gaurd the handset as per the policy wording. In order to have a valid claim all obligations or the policy must be met.
Proof of forcible entry would be the only way to confirm that the handset was safe gaurded in anyway and the underwriter is not able to move forward without this information.
Kind Regards
