Utterly disgusted

I've been paying them for 10 years meaning my phone was over insured but when I lost it they refused to pay saying that I reported late that the phone was missing. If they use their brain instead of sitting on it they will consider the time frame of when the phone was purchased will obviously be in relation with the late claim.

They are quick to ask if you want to cancel your insurance, because they can see that I've paid almost trice the value of the phone. God works in mysterious ways, don't be surprised when your company goes insolvent!

I would like to warn people out there, rather use your network cellphone insure e.g. MTN but don't go for 24hr mobility/Pinnacle - they are the biggest ******/******* ever!

Hello Mr Page,

I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction - I have looked into your complaint and have listed my findings below:

Your handset was lost 11/03/2016 however you only reported the incident to the police 09/04/2016 (29 days later) - the terms of the policy state that the incident needs to be reported to the SAPS within 48hrs from date of incident.

As the incident was reported late; the terms of the policy had not being met, leading to your claim being declined.

Several sms communications have being sent and successfully delivered to your insured number. These sms's contained links to download your policy wording which would have given you the opportunity to fami****ize yourself with the policy terms.

I understand that losing your handset is a great ordeal, but please be advised that the underwriter is bound by the terms of the policy and need to adhere to it as such.

Should you feel unfairly treated in any manner, the best way forward for you is to contact the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance as they will further investigate the claim on your behalf:
