Useless? More like Disgusting

The uselessness of 24 Hour mobility is disgusting, to have someone tell me that my cell phone claim will not be covered due to the fact that my claim is not a damages claim, while my menu bottom is not working what so ever. As we all know, one needs a working menu button for an iPhone. Forgot to mention that I have been paying money to this company for over 2 years. My policy states that they “offer cover for accidental unforeseen physical damage” under their repair only cover heading.

Under their Liquid Damage & Accidental damage once again it says that they “offer cover for accidental unforeseen physical damage” guess what the damage to my phone was unforeseen.

The fact that I don’t have a well drafted story as to what happened to the button and the events leading to fact that I cannot use my phone properly should not be a reason for an exclusion.

Also in case you were wondering, my claim does not fall within 24 Hour mobility’s exclusion.

So to avoiding having to go through a long process of contacting and completing a complaint form with the ombudsman. I would like to be contacted as soon as possible.

Dissatisfied client.

Hi Anele Madikizela,

Please be advised that the policy covers accidental physical and liquid damage to the handset. You have advised the underwriter that the handset has not incurred accidental damage in any form and due to this, the underwriter has declined the claim for it not being an insured event.

The handset will need to be assessed by your service provider to establish what could be causing the menu button to not function properly. As this handset was insured in 2013, it could more than likely be faulty due to gradual wear & tear which is not covered under the policy.

Please be advised that I will however still escalate the above complaint to management at the underwriters office for review and request for you to be contacted .

Kind Regards,

Chanel du Plessis
