Late Reporting
My cellphone claim has been declined because I allegedly reported my claim late. my device had a scratch on it which I did not report because the phone was fine, a couple of moths later my phone fell again and it broke, that is when I finally reported my claim. However my claim was declined for late reporting. I was not aware that every time I drop my phone I had to lay a claim.

I am not reporting a cracked screen, I am reporting a dysfunctional phone, I have not missed a single premium but my insurer is looking for ways not to pay me out. Secondly I feel terribly hard done by the fact that I was honest in filling out my claim, but my insurer sees that as an opportunity to punish me.

If this platform is not fruitful, I will refer my case to the insurance ombudsman.

Nothing remarkable about this service.
Thank you for bring this matter to our attention.
Please be advised that in order to have a valid claim all of the obligations of the policy need to be met. One of the obligations is to report a claim within 30 days. It is noted that when the damage occurred in April the devices's screen was cracked. This was not reported and may have caused more damage to the handset when the second damage occurred. This is the reason that the underwriter has declined the claim.
All 3 previous claims where reported within 30 days and where successful as the obligations of the policy had been met.
The above complaint has been forwarded to the underwriters office fore review and investigation. A final response with regards to the outcome of this claim has been requested from their office.
Only the underwriter has the authority to decline or authorize the claim.
Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention
