Contract Cancelled but still debited full amount.

Contract cancelled 16/10.2015. I fully understand 30 days notice period applies and agreed to such. What I did not agree to is that you would still debit me for the full premium on 29/10/2015 and ONLY AFTER 30 DAYS process a refund. I sent you an email stating that I wished you to send me an invoice for the pro-rata amount that I would owe you ( balance of the notice period going into November), and I would pay that. I have still had no reply to that email.

I know this is a small amount and that my complaint may seem petty, but two things seriously upset me about the way you are handling this:

1) Notice given on the 16th of the month gives you plenty of time to either amend or cancel a debit order. Do not try pull the wool over my eyes by saying this is not possible.

2) What give you the right to debit me the full amount and then only pay back the difference after 30 days? 30 days sitting with money in your bank account that you know does not belong to you!

Hello Gaz07,

Dear Richard Deans, with regards to the above, please find that the 30 days waiting period is due to the 30 day period which is allowed by a bank to a client within which you are able to reverse a debit order.

Please find that we are unable to waiver this waiting period as the insurer would run the risk of the client reversing a debit order which has already been refunded.

The only suggestion I could make, should you not wish to wait for the 30 day period to be refunded, is that you have the debit order reversed with your bank and the funds will be available to you immediately.

Kind Regards
