Clarity on prescription date

Good day Chanel,
Kindly note that no time was given to me after the MTN Strike ended. My claim was prescibed long before the 20th of July 2015, which is the date in which MTN workers got back from strike, Announcement was made on 16 July 2015 by Mteto Nyathi(CEO) and said employees were expected to get back to work on Monday(20 July 2015).I was informed about my claim being prescribed long before this date, Kindly check your records, you will notice this.
When i called the call centre on 21 July 2015 to ask why my account had been debited when they had prescribed my claim, i was told me that my claim had been incorrectly flagged as \not taken up"when it had to be flagged as prescribed which is why my account had been debited. Check the date in which my claim was flagged not \""taken up\"" and see it was way before strike ended.
Kindly find another reason as to why my claim was prescibed for a situation i had no control over and why is it that now it is said that i was granted time after MTN got back from strike. How is it that i was able to go to a police station and write an affidavit about this something of such inconvinience and couldnt make a simple call at my convinience time"""

Hello BonisiweM,

The underwriter had given you 44 days to blacklist the handset from the date of incident before the claim prescribed. In that time you were notified numerous times that the ITC number was required.

We do understand that the strike was out of your control, but time was allocated to you after the strike ended to provide us with the details. To date, 82 days have passed since your date of incident where you are still unable to supply us with the ITC reference number.

Please feel free to contact the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance should you feel unfairly treated in any manner or wish to dispute the outcome of your claim further:
