Claim Shamble
I sent my phone in for repairs at MTN mid-June. My mother borrowed me her phone in the interim. Almost 2 weeks later the repaired phone was returned but i was told the battery was faulty and was not under warranty. A week of searching for the battery was fruitless as neither MTN, Cell C or Vodacom had the battery in stock. I was able to find & purchase a battery (11/07/2015) at a small shop and was able to use my phone again after almost a month. Unfortunately, the Monday (13/07/2015(, i was ****** and my phone was ******. I submitted my claim and was told it was declined due to the usage not 'adding up'. I've had to explain this each time someone called me to discuss my claim. I've assisted with every request posed to me and yet they do not assist me. I would like this matter to be resolved before I am forced to escalate it to the ombudsman.
Thank you for bringing that the above to our attention and sorry for the frustration caused.
One of the terms of the policy state:
*It is important to note that your MOBILE DEVICE is only covered whilst being used with the SIMCARD encoded with the TELEPHONE number listed on your Schedule.
The underwriter has taken what you have stated with regards to the battery into account and have requested the invoice for the replacement of the battery from you on the 23rd of July in order to conclude their findings and revert back to you.
I will also email you with regards to this so I can assist in speeding this up for you.
Once again, I do apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,
Ruark Jewell
