Hi,

The clients phone send in for repairs at mtn repair centre, which quoted the client R4578.40 Cover assembly and PCB assembly, the client said no and are going to to a insurnce claim. The insurance claimed that this is not an insured thing, they wanted a technical form from mtn that shows what the fault is, and mtn does not give a technical on a device that is not repaired, however they gave a quote on how much the repair will be and for what. So now the insurance just dony want to help here.

There contact number is ********** 004 24 hour mobility spoken to john and lizelle,

Clients name Pascal

Dear N Smith

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Please be advised that the reason the report was not accepted is because it does not state that the damage to the handset is due to physical damage or water. The policy only covers you for physical accidental damage as well as water damage, loss and theft.

Please be advised that I have escalated this compliant to the underwriters office for review.

Kind Regards

Hi Megan,

As per report from MTN that states, the front housing was damage, and still 24HM claim this is not an insured event, when they clearly states its broken.

Dear N Smith

The claim form states that the client was using the handset and it just stopped working.

The front housing damage did not cause the handset to stop working. No where did the client state that the handset was physically damaged and then stopped working. the client has described that the handset just stopped working. The report does not indicate water damage. the insurance does not cover fair wear and tear.

Should the client feel unfairly treated they would need to escalate a complaint to the short term insurance ombudsman who ensures fair business practice. The underwriter has advised that this claim will remain declined.

Kind Regards
