Bad claims experience

I'm extremely appalled at the lack of communication concerning a time frame in which an excess has to be paid in with 24 hour mobility, It's only fair for an excess to be paid from the date the claim was approved and not from the date the incident happened, it does not make sense to me and I'm taking this issue further with the insurance ombudsman. I'm annoyed about this whole issue and I'll never recommend your company to anyone ever again!!!!!

Hello rori,

Thank you for bringing the above complaint to our attention.

As the broker we do not have the authority to declined, authorise or overturn a claim should the claim be declined by the underwriters who are bound by the terms of the policy.

Please be advised that after investigation into your claim we have found that your excess has not been paid within the 90 days from date of incident.

The policy wording states the following:

Where you fail to collect the HANDSET or MOBILE DEVICE which has been
repaired or replaced within ninety (90) days from date of loss, you will forfeit
the claim and the HANDSET or MOBILE DEVICE will be sold or returned to
stock to defray expenses.

An sms was sent to you on the 07/07/2014 with a link to your policy schedule and wording.

You are welcome to contact the short term insurance ombudsman should you feel unfairly treated and wish to further dispute the outcome of the claim:

Only the ombudsman has the authority to overturn the decision of the underwriter
