Beware – Atlantis Dry Cleaners and 24 Hour Laundry Damaged Our Curtains and Refuses Responsibility!
Beware – 24 Hour Laundry Damaged Our Curtains and Refuses Responsibility! I’m writing this on behalf of my parents, who recently took their brand-new curtaining to 24 Hour Laundry based on their positive Google reviews. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which initially gave us confidence in their service. However, at no point were we informed that the curtains would be outsourced to Atlantis Dry Cleaners. When we collected them, we discovered that the blackout lining was severely damaged. When my parents raised the issue with the 24 Hour Laudry they reffered them to Marcus (manager) of 24 hour laundry who then asked the owner, Zach of Atlantis Dry Cleaners to call my parents. Marcus indicated that Zach should pay for the damages. Zach first claimed that the damage was due to the “poor quality” of the blackout material. Later, after speaking with their curtain specialist, he changed his story and said that my parents had requested they be dry cleaned again — which is completely untrue they only asked if the mould could be removed. The curtain company has since confirmed that the material should never have been dry cleaned in the first place. Zach insists hes a material specialist and has done “hundreds” of these without incident, yet refuses to take any responsibility for the damage caused. Now, I’m left with a R3,000 bill to replace the blackout lining — all because of their negligence and lack of transparency. Neither does 24 hour laundry want to take any responsiblity for the damage. Be warned: if you value your belongings, avoid 24 Hour Laundry and Atlantis Dry Cleaners. Their service might look friendly, but their accountability is non-existent.
