Why do you guys give unemployed people policy they do not what they paying for

I am very concerned and worried about my mother policy no one ever calls her, someone called to open a policy and some how she not aware of what she signed up for. My mother have never been working for the last 20 years and now recently she started receiving pension and she always says her policy needs to be paid, but when we ask what policy it is she unable to advise us for what it is, I told her not to make payment so when no payment is received 1life will contact her and no one has called her since Sept which is very scary ,she paying R700 per month which could have been for food or her essential needs .so when something happens to her we also unable to advise for what she paid R700 .and she paying this amount for almost 4 years. Honestly I think this is fruad and someone just tried to get money out of her . Can someone call my mother on *** and explain to her what's happening and down grade her policy to something she can afford.
