Struggling to cancel policy

I have been on the phone for a while after being transferred. The woman that i spoke to tried to persuade me in not cancelling my policy (Pol no ********** 93) with them and after numerous times telling her that i just want TO CANCEL MY POLICY she says that i need to send them a email stating that i want to cancel the policy, now why dont tell me that in the first and not wasting my time. PLEASE CANCEL POLICY!!!!
