Refusal to reinstate policy
I am very disappointed at 1lifes decision not to reinstate my dad’s policy after it lapsed due to payment not being received. I have literally begged with them, but their answer was No as business saw this as a huge risk. I even agreed to lower the sum of the total policy to make up for non-payment as well making conditions that if another premium has to be skipped that they can cancel the policy no questions asked. But 1life continues to be stubborn and say they cannot reinstate the policy. Yes, I am guilty for not making sure my premiums went off, but equally responsible is 1life for not contacting me to inform me that no payment has been received, like they had done so previously. Had they contacted me I would have made sure that the policy was brought up to date before it lapsed. Negligence on your side for not contacting me is also to blame. So what happens to all the premiums paid for almost 9 years, who is benefiting from that? Negligence on your side for not contacting is partial to blame for the policy lapsing, but you would not take ownership and do the right thing and reinstate the policy.
