Lack of Interest

In 2010 a boyfriend of mine took out a life insurance policy with me as the beneficiary ( as surety on a loan ) 1life are very quick to open a policy for you over the phone !! Don't be fooled!! Unfortunately and unexpectedly he passed away aged 45 from heart failure on 23/3/2015. He was in a hospital, he had just had heart surgery, and he passed away suddenly. Now trying to submit a claim is like a living nightmare - I have been given the run around now for 2 months - I originally requested that the funeral policy portion be paid - which it hasn't - but besides that I have sent realms of paperwork, and every single piece of paper that they have requested. Every time I ask for a update on what is happening - they ask me for something else.
In the first instance I don't understand the delaying tactics - the fact is he had a policy and he unfortunately passed away. No suspicious circumstances ! He was in hospital - granted he had not had employment for a few years - but the policy was paid every month and surely that is what counts.
Secondly it is not a huge policy - and the only time I get any feedback is when I make an enquiry. I am not impressed at all !
