1life not paying out the funeral policy just for 8 days before waiting period

My Mom had a funeral policy with 1life insurance , it happened that my cousin passed away with only 8 days before the 6months waiting period and that resulted for 1 life not to pay out the insurance for us to be able to burry my cousin, I mean 8 days before waiting period and yet 1 life deducted the premiums for the new month. I found this as a money making scheme that loot from the poor of the poorest ,
